Cupped, seersucker leaves on very upright stems- good slug resistance. White flowers appear just above the foliage on 22" scapes in early summer. Their subtle colors, tall flower scapes, and broad, coarse leaves fill a niche in garden designs that few other plants can achieve.

Care:

Hosta are the backbone of the shade garden requiring very little maintenance and get better with age. Being a shade plant, moist, humus-rich soil with a neutral to alkaline pH is the rule. Slugs can be a problem - heavily textured leaves have some resistance. Cleaning foliage out of the garden in early winter will help control slugs.
