English lavender (angustifolia) is certainly a must for the herb garden since it is considered to have the the most "true" fragrant. Lavender is a bushy shrub with aromatic, silver-gray leaves and spiked, lavender purple leaves. Essence Purple is an outstanding performer in the garden producing masses of fragrant, intense purple-blue blossoms atop bushy mounds of silver-green foliage from midsummer through early fall. Ships as a 2 year old plant with well developed roots and mature top.

Care:

Will benefit from the addition of calcium (lime or shells) and DRAINAGE is a must. Good for containers The majority of herbs are relatively pest and disease free and require little more than a well-drained sunny site, lots of room, and moderately fertile soil to thrive.  Adding organic matter to the soil regularly will help provide consistent nutrients. Avoid nitrogen-rich fertilizers.
