The most common garden, our variety "Kentucky Colonel" is a standard for Mint Juleps. One of the distinctive features of mint is its square stem. Most are invasive perennials that spread via the roots and will interbreed readily.
Uses: Most obvious uses are tea, candies and sauces but is also found in many Middle Eastern (tabouli) and south Asian dishes. Medicinally, its uses center around relief of cold symptoms and soothing the digestive tract.

Care: Mints are VERY invasive and will take over an area. Avoid putting it in your garden. Likes a moist soil and is okay with part shade.
The majority of herbs are relatively pest and disease free and require little more than a well-drained sunny site, lots of room, and moderately fertile soil to thrive. Slightly acidic to neutral pH. Adding organic matter to the soil regularly will help provide consistent nutrients. Avoid nitrogen-rich fertilizers.
